Thank God it's Friday

I know that “Thank God it’s Friday’ is usually said in absence of any kind of thankfulness towards the Almighty, but I’d like to do my bit to remedy that.

Today I’m thankful for the possible appointment of a new minister for our church next year.  We meet him Sunday week.  We've been without a full-time minister for a year.  It would be so nice...

You got anything you’re thankful for today? Join in! Let’s count our blessings for a bit.

I am thanking God with you for your praise point. It is hard work being without a minister - a good and useful time in the life of a congregation but hard work none the less. And it fits with my point of thankfulness. I woke up thanking God for His provision to us. I have been praying for the provision of this and that for church life and home life...and thus far God is either answering "no" or "not yet." And this morning I just have a deep sense that if God is saying no at the moment then it means we have all that He wants us to have. And that must be enough. So I am thankful for His provision and also for eyes to see that and be content. And thankful for His provision to your church too. Good days.

Yeah, thanks Meredith. A while ago we thought we were getting someone and then it didn't work out. My huge mound of disappointment and resentment at the time surprised me. It helped me to realise that I'd been quietly saying in my head, "It's okay. We'll just hang on until this guy comes and then it will all be fine." When it didn't work out, I realised my focus had been in the wrong place. So I think there have been good things come out of the vacancy. I appreciate your reminder that God provides for us all he wants us to have at the time and does that for our good.

So thankful that knowing I'm not a "perfect " mum, my kids know that I love them. They tell me so.
