Book Week trauma

Burnt my finger with the hot glue gun this afternoon trying to finish off one of the kids' Book Week costumes.  Not feeling the Book Week love.  Don't condemn me as a parent, but I'm not a fan of school dress-up days.

Mmmm...
Wrote a comment. Forgot to say something. Deleted it. But the trace is still there...mmmmmm.....
So...Book Week...
Loved it as a teacher.
Not that keen on it as a parent.
My apologies to 15 years' of classes' parents.
And my commiserations on the burnt finger. Hope it gets better quickly.

We are feeling the Book Week non-enjoyment here too...
Both our kids want to go as Artemis Fowl. The costumes we've come up with aren't setting the world on fire.
I'm trying to work out a good excuse to avoid the parade tomorrow. They're having a numeracy seminar for parents afterwards. I think it's pretty nerdy of me that I'm more interested in going to the numeracy thing than the parade. I may avoid them both since Thursday mornings are currently being spent here in a frantic rush preparing stuff for work...
Hope the finger's feeling better soon :)

Wolf's costume is nearly finished. Finger is recovering slowly. Now my desk is covered in glitter from the Queen of Narnia's crown. Sigh.
