Those of you who have had children and lived through the poo and bottom joke stage, tell me please:

What did you do about it?  How worked up should I get about it?

I know it's pretty age-appropriate for this stage but it's not conversation I care to have in my house and I am concerned about where it goes next if left unchecked.  On the other hand, I don't want to turn it into such a big deal that I fan the flames.

So..... heap on the advice!

I think it is a stage that eventually passes, or at least lessons, and probably isn't an issue worth too much worry or censorship. Having said that, I make it clear to my boys that there are certain times when it is inappropriate to use this type of humour, eg at the dinner table, and that adults do not find it funny so it is best said out of their hearing. Other times I try to turn a dear ear!!

I can't really help... My husband still thinks these jokes are hilarious. Our whole family is having to learn to keep it within the household, Grandparents, for example, are not huge fans!
